A woman I knew asked me to clean
the inside of a building like a public hall.
So I invited a friend to do it with me,
but he didn’t come at the promised time.
I can’t help it, so I’ll do it alone.
There are a lot of bamboo sticks rolling around.
It’s like a bamboo broom without a tip.
Is it thicker than that? On the contrary,
it is quite thick.
Someone came in there.
I thought it was a friend, but it was dark a
nd I couldn’t see anyone well.
When I approached the figure,
I found the woman I knew.
She says something like
“Thank you for your hard work.”
It’s already past noon,
but I haven’t done anything yet, so I feel sorry.
【 掃除の依頼 】
知り合いのおばさんから頼まれたのだ。
公民館みたいな建物の中を掃除して欲しい、と。
それで、一緒にやろうと友人を誘ったのだが
そいつは約束の時刻になっても来ない。
仕方ないので、ひとりでやる。
なにやら竹の棒がたくさん転がっている。
先っちょのない竹ぼうきみたいだ。
あれよりは太いか。いや、かなり太い。
そこへ、誰かが入ってきた。
友人かと思ったが、暗くてよく見えない。
人影に近寄ると、知り合いのおばさんだった。
「ご苦労様」みたいなことをおっしゃる。
もう昼過ぎなのに、まだ少しも片づいてなくて
なんとも申しわけない気分。
